TWELVE finalists saw off competition from scores of singers to win through to the final of an Edmonton talent contest.

Edmonton Green Shopping Centre hosted heats for its own version of the X Factor, dubbed the Xmas Factor, at the weekend.

Singers performed to crowds of shoppers in two categories, under 16 and over 16, with 12 finalists selected to perform against in the final on Saturday, December 18.

The winners of the competition will walk away with a £500 prize, £75 in Peacocks vouchers and the title of Xmas Factor Winner 2010.

Roger Allen, the centre manager, said: “This is the biggest event we have ever run and so far is has been a great success.

“Everyone taking part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the audience participation was outstanding.”

The finalists who will be lining up to perform this Saturday are:

Ciara O'Gorman, 13, from Enfield

Tanya Chaves, nine, from Edmonton

Cameron Sanderson, 13, from Enfield

Christie Edwards, 15, from Enfield

Katie Pitt, 12, from Edmonton

Lizzie Reynolds, 12, from Enfield

And in the over 16 category:

Tiffani Singh-Brown, 19, from Hillingdon

Janine Edwards, 20, from Edmonton

Manuel Josias, 20, from Enfield

Loren Wright, 18, from Walthamstow

Mackson Mackiese, 22, from Edmonton

Ruth Currie, 22, from Enfield
