A NEW Southgate man has been charged with knocking down and killing a student in June.
Elizabeth Beach-MacGeagh, 20, was knocked down and fatally injured while out jogging in East Barnet. She was rushed to hospital with head injuries but died the next day.
The driver of the car which hit her failed to stop at the scene, and police launched an investigation and appealed for the driver to come forward.
Yesterday, Aryeris Angelis, 26, of Tewkesbury Terrace, was charged with causing death by careless driving, perverting the course of justice, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to report an accident.
He has been freed on bail and is due to appear at Hendon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 21.
