CHILDREN from a church will donate a raft of toys to a children's hospice which covers Enfield.
Youngsters at All Saints Church, in Uxbridge Road, in Harrow will be donating their own toys to Noah's Ark Children's Hospice at the Christmas service.
They will then be used as presents for children at the centre throughout the year as the hospice itself has already arranged its own festive gifts.
James Mercer, vicar at the church, said the idea was that children should be involved in giving at Christmas.
He said: “We imagine that with the families that come to our Christmas service they will bring a gift that will be given to the hospice.
“The children are very motivated by the idea of bringing in toys and the idea is for them to bring one of their own toys that's in good condition that they would be happy to pass on to another child.”
Kathy Ford, family activities co-ordinator at the hospice, said: “We are really grateful to the congregation at All Saints Church who are donating toys this Christmas Eve as presents for the children we support.
“The toys will be given to the children and their siblings during the coming year as birthday presents and gifts for special occasions.
“The big smiles on their faces when they receive the presents say it all, many thanks once again”
