After a quarter of a century of service to the local community, Bounds Green Press, of 129—131 Bounds Green Road N11 ceased trading on March 31.
This unfortunate closure was discussed at a committee meeting of the Bounds Green and District Residents’ Association on April 11.
Shirish Sheth, the owner, and his team have given consistently good, friendly and personal service to the residents of Bounds Green, including residents of Haringey and Enfield.
This important and valued local business will be much missed in Bounds Green, providing as it has done, high-grade and good value printing and related services. This is a very real loss for local clients.
Can a way be found of protecting local businesses in Bounds Green N11 at this time of economic recession? For some local businesses, business rates and an excess of legislation can be critical. Is it really fair or reasonable that such important local businesses should be rated and treated on the same basis as Marks and Spencer, BP or Tesco? The Government should act and satisfactorily resolve these issues.
In conclusion, we wish Mr Sheth and his team good luck and success in their future careers.
Ken Ranson
Chariman, Bounds Green and District Residents’ Association
