I am sending a picture of a street party taken in approximately 1936 (the coronation of King George VI) held in Walton Street, off Lancaster Road, Enfield.
The old lady in the middle (and probably the organiser) is my great grandmother Mrs Elizabeth Wilson, who lived at 19 Walton Street.
She had ten or 11 children and brought them all up in Walton Street. She used to help other people too, as well as selling sweets from her front room to the local children.
Although many people did not have much money, they seem to have organised a great party with homemade hats, flags and bunting not to mention the food, jellies, trifles, sandwiches and cakes.
