If Kate Wilkinson and Kieran McGregor want to know why people in Enfield voted them out as councillors in last year’s elections, they only have to re-read their letter of last week (‘Time to deliver on promises’, Opinion, April 27).
Putting aside the factual errors about support from GPs (I read in the council’s report that GPs declined to take a view on what should happen), I personally did not vote for the Save Chase Farm party because they always seem to give Labour an easy ride.
They should be tearing a strip off Labour-run Enfield council for its lame report, which missed the chance to come up with a concrete plan to save A&E at Chase Farm.
Simply asking for more money, when we all know there is none, is playing politics with the situation.
The Labour council will now blame the Health Secretary for taking the tough decisions that it couldn’t bring itself to make.
Downgrading Chase Farm will be horrendous for Enfield. That is why the council’s “plan” was so disappointing. Kate Wilkinson and Kieran McGregor should have challenged them on this.
