UNION leaders have called off six days of strikes on the Tube after a sacked driver was re-employed.

The Rail, Maritime, and Transport union had been threatening a walkout of around 1,500 drivers during three days next week and again on three days in June.

The dispute was called over the sacking of two drivers, with the RMT claiming they had been victimised because of their union activities.

One of the drivers, Eamonn Lynch, has now been reinstated, and the union has called off the strike pending further talks over the future of the second driver, Arwyn Thomas.
