AN amateur football team trying to win a record three cups in eight days have won its first final.
Intertrac Football Club, which plays its home matches in Tottenhall Lane, Palmers Green, was formed in September last year. The players were undefeated in their first season – winning the league and reaching the final of every competition they entered.
And on Sunday they beat rivals Apoel FC 1-0 in the North London and South Hertfordshire Sunday League Division Two Cup Final at Brimsdown Sports Ground, collecting their third trophy of the season.
Manager Alex Michael said: “We're still on track to win it all – as you can see, the lads were very happy.”
Two matches against Beresford United are up next for Intertrac, in the Challenge Cup final on Friday, finishing with the Charlie Saunders Memorial Cup final on Monday.
If the team does manage to win all three cups to add to its league title and Joseph Gunter Memorial Cup victory, it will become the first club ever to hold all five trophies at the same time.
Both matches will be played at Brimsdown Sports Ground in Goldsdown Road.
