YOUNG footballers from an Enfield club have received awards for their dedication over the season.
Players from the under-nine and under-ten teams of Olympiacos Youth Football Club, who play in the fields off Ladysmith Road, won merit awards from the Enfield Association of Voluntary Youth Clubs.
The club was formed in 2005 with one under-ten side, but has grown to eight sides for children aged 7-14, and is linked with Olympiacos - the Greek national champions based in the city of Piraeus.
Club secretary Yiannis Mavroudis said: “It was with great pride and admiration that the parents, coaches and managers of Olympiacos Youth FC watched every player of the two teams receive an award.”
Coaches Alexi Mavroudis and Jonathan Fung also received awards for their contributions at the reception at Enfield Civic Centre, while head coach Emilios Eleftheriou received a long service award.
