ENFIELD youngsters are celebrating after a trophy at a London-wide sports competition.
Children from the borough's boccia team hammered Camden 7-0 in the final of the London Youth Games at the Westway Sports Centre in Kensington on Tuesday.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport that involves throwing leather balls as close as possible to a target ball.
Barbara Cutting, Team Manager of Enfield, said: “It is fantastic to win and we were very excited watching them.
“Boccia is very big in Enfield. We want to keep our title next year and will carry on working hard.
“Hopefully these kids will progress from here because this year we have got further than we ever have before, which is good.
“It is fantastic that the London Youth Games gives these kids the opportunity to participate in sport.”
The event takes place over 26 days until early July and allow children to compete against other London boroughs in 30 sports right across the capital.
