I supported Charles Walker MP in his protest to retain the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in Cheshunt on Saturday, as I am sure the UCC offers a useful local service to those less able to travel even if, as in my case, you are referred to Chase Farm Hospital anyway.
It was mooted that the loss of these UCCs would offer more weight to the Save Chase Farm Campaign and, given a choice, I know which one I would choose, but when it comes to the healthcare for the taxpaying electorate in this area, why should we have to choose at all? We should have access to both facilities.
I would therefore implore other Tory, and for that matter Lib-Dem, MPs in this area to conduct a similar protest against their own Government cuts — if more than 1,000 can show up in Cheshunt, I am sure the Enfield turnout could be even bigger.
