THE first car club service to set up in Enfield has been launched.
Streetcar has taken possession of parking bays in seven locations around the borough, where residents can pick up and rental car on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The scheme has been backed by Enfield Council as an environmentally friendly way to travel, as well as cutting down the number of cars on the borough's streets.
Brett Akker, co-founder of Streetcar, said the firm had moved into Enfield after the scheme was successful in neighbouring Haringey.
He added: “We’re confident our vehicles will be equally successful here. We have proven that if you give people a very reliable and convenient alternative, they’re only too willing to take it up.”
