I am a 42-year-old lady who is having treatment for ductual carcinoma in situ — an early form of breast cancer in two areas of my left breast.

I am writing with regard to the future of healthcare at Chase Farm hospital Enfield. Firstly I would like to thank all the staff of Victor Jaffe’s team and the consultant breast surgeon who spotted this through regular checks via mammograms for the family history clinic where I have been going for some years, as my mother and grandmother also had breast cancer.

It is obvious that all political parties have been lying to us regarding the future of Chase Farm and the NHS and have spun us yarns for years.

Instead of politicians pretending to care and buck passing, why do not they stand alongside us and stop these disgraceful cuts.

I think that the politicians have forgotten one thing. They can give money to overseas yet cannot and won’t invest in the NHS and stop a good hospital like Chase Farm closing.

Perhaps they should realise that charity begins at home.
