FOUR people have been fined more than £1,800 for using someone else's blue badge to park in Enfield.

Nicos Nicalou, Anastasia Kycryou, Athanasios Petrou, and Pembe Mustafa were all hauled before Enfield Magistrates for dishonestly using a disabled badge to park.

They were caught out by Enfield Council officers, and Councillor Chris Bond, cabinet member for the environment, said they should “hang their heads in shame” for cheating the system.

Nicalou, 48, of Grenoble Gardens, Palmers Green, used his mother's badge to park in Green Lanes in March, and was ordered to cough up £565 by magistrates on May 26.

Kycryco, 46, of Windmill Road, Edmonton, also admitted using his mother’s badge in Green Lanes, and the court heard the badge had previously been misused by someone else. She was told to pay a £150 fine.

Petrou, 72, of Lakeside Crescent, East Barnet, admitted using his wife's disabled badge in Palmers Green while she was in Wood Green.

And Mustafa, 34, of Berners Road, Wood Green, was fined £557.50 for misusing her mother’s badge at Sydney Road, Enfield Town in January.
