A HOSPICE which supports Enfield residents suffering from cancer are looking for participants for its annual fundraising cycle ride.
Scores of cyclist will journey across the borough on Sunday, June 26, for the Big Bike Ride, raising much needed funds for the Nightingale Community Hospice.
The hospice, in Lancaster Road, Enfield Town, was set up in 2002 to help Enfield residents and their families who are battling with cancer.
It relies largely on donations to continue running, and holds a series of fundraising events throughout the year, including the bike ride and Friday's Night Hike.
Among those backing the Big Bike Ride is former council leader Jeff Rodin, and Enfield's cycling champion Councillor Alan Sitkin who urged residents to embrace the environmentally-friendly way of raising money.
The hospice has set a provisional target of £10,000 to raise from the event, and is looking for more people to sign up to help boost the total.
The ride starts between 10am and 11am on Sunday, June 26 in Enfield Town Park, with stewards and signposts helping participants to navigate the route.
If you are interested in taking part, you can call 0208 366 9674, email clive@nightingalehospice.org.uk, or collect a form from the hospice office.
Registration costs £5 for adults and £2 for children, £5 Children, or to donate you can go to http://www.justgiving.com/enfieldbigbikeride.
