A Middlesex University student is due in court this morning charged with violent disorder at last year's student riots.
Alfie Meadows, 20, is among eight defendants who have been charged by police in relation to the central London protests on December 9.
Mr Meadows, who lives in south London, hit the headlines following the violent demonstration, after it was claimed he had been hit over the head by a police officer.
He underwent emergency surgery on his brain after being rushed to hospital, and an Independent Police Complaints Commission probe into the alleged incident is still ongoing.
However, Mr Meadows was charged with violent disorder in April following an investigation into the events in Parliament Square.
He is due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates Court at 10am.
