TEENAGERS from an Edmonton school have won top prize in a competition to find North London's best young enterprise company.
Students from The Latymer School in Haselbury Road won the regional final of the Young Enterprise Company Innovation Awards last month and go on to compete in the London final on June 23.
The team's 'Hold Up' company impressed judges – including The Apprentice winner Stella English – with their headphone holder that is designed to stop wires tangling when listening to music.
The group ran a competition for customers to design their own product and sold them at local trade fairs and around the school.
Teacher Peter Davis said: “The team itself showed great determination, commitment and organisation, especially being one of the largest groups we have had at the school running a company.
“This is in no small part due to the leadership of their managing director Samara Linton.”
Students have been taking part in the Young Enterprise since September. The scheme gives them practical experience of running a business – including raising capital and marketing their product.
