CONMEN claiming to offer council tax rebates have been targeting residents in Enfield.
Enfield Council has issued a warning for residents to look out for the fraudsters, who are offering hundreds of pounds in refunds from Council Tax Head Office in London.
The scam is also being played out via email, asking people to give out their personal details and bank account numbers to receive a payment.
The council has warned residents against giving out personal details over the phone, and said the phone numbers 0208 123 0965, 0203 286 1358 and 0208 123 2739 are linked to the scam.
