AN Enfield man is among four accused of duping investors out of millions in a so-called “land banking” fraud.
Omar Eshpari, 30, of George Lovell Drive, is due to appear at City of London Magistrates charged with conspiracy to defraud.
He is co-accused with Dean Straker, 32, from St Albans, Stefan Mitchell, 41, from Surrey, and Derial White, 26, from London, of being part of a £200 million scam to sell worthless land to investors.
The prosecution comes after a probe into four firms - Pemberton International Ltd, Eldon International Ltd, Willow International Ltd and Allied Investment Management Ltd.
The accused men will appear in court on Thursday, June 23.
Land banking fraud is seen as an emerging phenomenon where investors, keen to put their money into something seen as safer than stocks and shares, buy plots of land overseas.
