AN Enfield couple have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a family party.
Norman and Jean Wadden, of Chase Green Avenue, got married in 1951 at Bowes Park Methodist Church in Palmerston Road.
The couple – who have four children – celebrated 60 years of marriage with a party at Bounds Green Bowls Club in Brownlow Road on June 5, surrounded by friends and family.
Mr Wadden said: “Meeting so many family and friends gather together at one venue really did make it a very special and memorable occasion for us.
“We are now very proud to have 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.”
He added that they had received a card from the Queen wishing them congratulations on reaching the milestone.
