FORMER service personnel and members of the British Legion will march through Enfield Town this afternoon to mark Armed Forces Day.
The parade, starting at 2.30pm, will start in Trinity Street, heading past the war memorial and into Church Street where a salute will be given to Mayor of Enfield Councillor Christiana During.
Armed Forces Day is held annually to pay tribute to servicemen past and present. It is marked by events up and down the country.
Councillor Andrew Stafford, Enfield Council's cabinet member for finances and resources, said: “Serviceman put themselves on the line every day, sometimes paying the highest price, and it is only right that we should support and respect the job they do.”
The march through Enfield Town will finish at the civic centre, in Silver Street, at around 3pm.
