PLACES are still available for children to make costumes to wear at next month's Edmonton Carnival.

Children between ten and 14 can sign up for the free workshops at Oaktree School in Chase Side, where they can learn to make a costume to wear in the parade from the Millfield Arts Centre in Silver Street to Jubilee Park on July 23.

Councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for leisure, said: “This is all part of the carnival fun. Learning to make stunning show stopping costumes and wear them for the parade is something that children will always remember.

“The Edmonton Carnival is part of this year’s Enfield Festival organised by the council – it will be a great trailblazer for our Olympics cultural festival next year.”

There are eight places left for the workshops that run between 10am to 2pm for three consecutive Saturdays from July 2.
