AN Enfield teenager has been sentenced for two burglaries after a probe into more than 100 break-ins across Hertfordshire and Essex.
Jimmy Perry, 19, of Third Avenue, admitted taking part in two burglaries in the first half of last year and was given a suspended 39-month prison term on Wednesday, June 22.
Perry had been part of an organised gang who broke into homes to steal car keys for the vehicles on the driveway.
Herts Police launched an investigation following a spate of burglaries between January and June 2010, believing some of the stolen cars were being exported abroad.
Four other men appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday with Perry, having also admitted their part in the criminal operation.
Calvin McKenzie, 30, of Ilford, admitted handling stolen goods and was jailed for 27 months, Cheshunt teenager Renell Johnson, 18, pleaded guilty to burglary and handling stolen goods and was sentenced to 39 weeks in a young offender institute, suspended for 12 months.
Aaron Perry, 20, of Waltham Cross, admitted three burglaries and was given a suspended one-year sentence in a young offenders institute, and 24-year-old Danny Berkeley, also of Waltham Cross, was given a curfew after admitting handling stolen goods.
