YOUNGSTERS from across Enfield donned graduation gowns this week as they completed special children's university courses.
The programme included 200 pupils between ten and 12 years old, who earned certificates for their achievements in a range of activities such as sports, cookery and dance.
The children went to Middlesex University's Trent Park campus on Tuesday and Wednesday to receive their awards – to gain a gold degree they must have spent 400 hours on their chosen skill.
Councillor Ayfer Orhan, cabinet member for schools, said: “This has been an extremely successful grant funded project and we expect more schools to be taking part. I congratulate all the children and their schools who have worked hard to achieve their certificates.
“Our schools provide a range of activities that are both fun and educational encouraging all abilities especially including those who would not normally attend.”
