In response to the issue of wheelie bins (“Where is the space for bins?”, Opinion, June 8) I would like to say that I am an elderly, widowed, single disabled person living in Enfield.
When the first wheelie bins were delivered to my address, I immediately got in touch with Enfield Council asking if I could have the smaller bins as I would never need the huge larger bins.
The big bins were quickly replaced by the smaller ones. A few neighbours also requested the smaller type of wheelie bins, which were provided.
I am fortunate to live in a semi-detached house, and agree these bins can be an eyesore when left in front of houses. However, it can be helped by having the smaller bins.
I would like to thank Enfield Council for an efficient weekly collection of my refuse.
