A PETITION signed by more than 400 residents has been handed to Enfield Council, opposing the idea of closing libraries.
Enfield North MP Nick de Bois handed in the petition this week as part of his Hands Off Our Libraries campaign.
The campaign came on the back of comments made by Councillor Andrew Stafford, who is in charge of finance, in April when he suggested up to three libraries could close as part of budget cuts.
The council is due to reveal its proposals for the future of libraries in the borough on Monday.
The Labour administration will outline plans for libraries, ahead of a full consultation with residents on changes they believe should be made.
