PICTURES of thousands of stolen goods seized by police have been put on the internet in a bid to return them to their owners.
Officers in Camden raided a house in the borough last October after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public, and found power tools, electrical goods, bicycles and laptops.
Due to the sheer amount of equipment they found, detectives have decided to create a page on photo-sharing website Flickr with a photo and serial number of each stolen item.
Detective Inspector Gary Randall said: “I hope that by launching a page on Flickr it will allow more people to look through the images and recognise their property.
“The aim of this campaign is to establish if these items have been reported as stolen and return as many of these items as we can – I would encourage anyone who has had power tools, electrical equipment, pedal cycles, or other things stolen to visit the site.”
Officers believe that the items were stolen from people across London and are appealing for anyone whose property was stolen before February 7 to visit the site, which can be accessed by clicking here.
If your recognise anything, email police on Op.Diamante@met.police.uk with details of the item, its photograph title on Flickr, when it was stolen, its serial number, and any crime reference number you have, along with your contact details.
