POLICE have named a 14-year-old boy found murdered yesterday in a Ponders End park as Leroy James.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 5.30pm yesterday to Ponders End Recreation Ground.
The boy from Edmonton was found in the middle of the recreation ground, by a concrete wall, and had been fatally stabbed.
A post-mortem will be held at 11am today at Haringey mortuary.
Detectives are appealing for information. Anyone who can help should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
DCI Goode said: "We urgently need to trace anyone who was in the park around that time on Wednesday afternoon, and who may have seen the incident in which Leroy was stabbed.
"At this early stage we retain an open mind on the circumstances of the assault, and do need the public's assistance."
