FLORAL tributes have been laid outside a Ponders End park where a teenage boy was stabbed to death.
Leroy James, 14, died last night after being stabbed in Ponders End Recreation Ground, at around 5.30pm.
Paramedics found the Edmonton boy slumped against a concrete wall on the basketball court in the park, which is just off High Street. He died at the scene.
Police officers have shut down the park while forensic teams continue to comb the scene for clues.
A tent remains in place over the spot where Leroy died.
This morning a string of young people have come to the park to pay their respects, with some laying flowers outside the park gates.
Local shopkeepers told the Enfield Independent a football match had been taking place on the park when Leroy was attacked.
A post mortem is due to take place this morning at Haringey Mortuary to determine the cause of death.
Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing have urged anyone who was in the park yesterday afternoon to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
