The Mayor of Enfield visited an Edmonton mosque on Wednesday evening to take part in a fast-breaking dinner.
Councillor Kate Anolue joined the Mayor of Haringey, Councillor David Browne, and members of community groups to enjoy a meal at Mevlana Rumi Mosque in Fore Street.
The meal aimed to initiate interaction and new friendship between people in different sectors of the community.
Events organiser at the mosque, Veysel Ozer, said: "It was a really great event and there was quite a range of people there.
“People loved it and the great thing was it made people sit with different organisations, people were chatting away.”
Muslim communities have been fasting during daylight hours since July 20, which marked the start of month-long Ramadan.
Approximately 55 people attended the meal, including members of organisations from TimeBank, ARD Turkish Supplementary School and Edmonton’s Apostolic Christian Church.
