An unbeaten late knock of 122 from Scott Newman helped Winchmore Hill beat Harrow by six wickets in the Middlesex League Division Two on Saturday.

Visitors Harrow had looked in good shape after posting a sizeable total of 313 for eight before opting to declare, but Newman brushed them aside.

Kamran Hussain opened the innings with 62 before Aaron Johnson smashed 105 - including six sixes - to strengthen Harrow's score.

Delarey Terblanche took five wickets but was hit for 93 in his 17 overs.

Winchmore Hill start poorly in reply, with Tom Ludlam removed for 12 before Tobi Claridge (8) followed soon after.

However, Newman's 122 not out and a further 63 not out from Terblanche saw the hosts reach 317 with six wickets to spare.

Darren Crook (two for 65), Sachin Patel (one for 30) and Tushaar Karia (one for 80) took the wickets for Harrow.

Victory means Winchmore Hill sit fifth after seven games.

Enfield drew at home to Uxbridge in Division Two after running out of time.

Batting first, second-place Uxbridge were removed for 230, with their lower order making the biggest contributions.

Arthur George (57) and John Hendrie Junior (47) ended with the biggest hits after a slow start from the visitors.

Leo Smith was the most effective bowler for the hosts, taking four for 67.

The hosts recovered from a faltering start, losing Joe Naughton for a duck before Jack Plumb (19) followed.

Sixty-three from Tony Sayers and 34 from Peter Lazarus steadied the innings but time ran out with Enfield on 206 for eight.

George did his bit to remove Enfield but finished with figures of five for 69, whilst John Hendrie Junior took two for 21.

The draw leaves Enfield sixth in the table.

In Division One, Holtwhites Trinibis suffered a 38-run defeat at Botany Bay.

Having won the toss, Botany Bay elected to bat first and reached 173 in 49.2 overs before being dismissed.

The Holtwhites' reply saw them fall short as they scored 135 before being removed after 35.1 overs.

Holtwhites remain third-bottom of the division.

North Enfield drew at Old Elizabethans in Division Three after running out of time.

Put into bat first, the hosts reached a good total of 254 for nine after their 53 overs.

In reply, North Enfield were on 233 for six after 47 overs when time ran out.

Northampton Exiles made light work of winning at Datchworth in Division Four.

Put into bat first, the hosts made 150 in 41.1 overs before being removed.

The visiting Exiles then reached their target of 151 with seven wickets in hand to claim the win.

Northampton sit eighth after as many games.
