Enfield were held to a dramatic draw against Eastcote in the Middlesex County League Cricket Division Two on Saturday.
The hosts fell just two runs short of claiming victory, as they ran out of time against second-bottom Eastcote.
Inserted into bat first, Eastcote leant heavily on the contributions of Sachin Gulvady (86) and Charlie Wakim (70) with the bat, finishing on 290 for eight before declaring Harpal Sagoo (31) and Christopher James (13) were the only other two Eastcote batsmen to register runs, with four batsmen removed for ducks.
Lesbourne Edwards took five wickets but they came at the expense of 108 runs in his 19 overs.
Enfield scored steadily in reply, with Jack Plumb (32) and Joe Naughton (260 opening encouragingly. Batting at four, Asad Shah hit 69 before Peter Lazarus weighed in with 55.
Fifty-five from Tony Sayers further down the order helped Enfield to 289 for eight as they ran out of overs.
Clint Wolverson starred with the ball for the visitors, taking six for 106.
Elsewhere in Division Two, bottom-of-the-league Winchmore Hill lost by eight wickets at home to Southgate.
Batting first, the Hill made 178 all out, with Southgate easing to 180 just two wickets down.
In the Saracens Herts League Division One, Holtwhites Trinibis enjoyed a two-wicket win at Hitchin.
Put into bat, the hosts made 247 for six in their overs allowance before the visitors reached 249 for eight.
North Enfield enjoyed a six-wicket success at Totteridge Millhillians in Division Three.
Hosts Totteridge put up 131 before being removed, with North Enfield hitting 135 for four to claim victory.
Northampton Exiles were held to a draw by Langleybury Seconds in Division Four.
Having chosen to bat first, the Exiles made 204 for six, with their visitors holding onto their final wicket with 173 for nine.
