ENFIELD girls just missed out on a place in the London Youth Games basketball semi-finals.
They qualified from their initial group, but were knocked out by Lambeth in a play-off.
Elicia Harewood, a member of Enfield’s team, said: “It was great fun. We weren’t quite at our best against Lambeth but we will get better and everyone really enjoyed it.”
Former competitor at the Games and current GB basketballer Rosalee Mason dropped in and commented: “I’m delighted to have been invited to the basketball qualifiers. I was really impressed by what I saw and the future of women’s basketball in Britain looks in good shape.”
The finals of the London Youth Games take place at Crystal Palace on July 4.
