ENFIELD topped their group in the London Youth Games badminton qualifiers and will be one of eight boroughs fighting it out to be champions at Crystal Palace this weekend.
Enfield’s mixed team qualified from a group containing Greenwich and Richmond. The full squad was Geoffrey Rowe, Harris Allan, Shane Rasiah, Andrew Jones, Hans Tang, Stella Antoniou, Chandula Wickramarochach, Charlotte Bullen, Sophie Organ and Jessica Worringham.
Commenting on the borough’s success, Enfield badminton team managers Ian Reddington and Deirdre Doyle said: “The team played extremely well. They are a young team and we’re all really proud of them. Hopefully they can do well this weekend."
Enfield will be represented in a variety of sports at the London Youth Games, which take place on Saturday.
The Games are the UK's largest annual multi-sport event, with all 33 London boroughs battling it out.
Organisers claim that more than 30,000 competitors will take part in more than 60 events across 30 sports.
Participants are aged between seven and 17.
