ENFIELD Judo Club member Amy Thompson will represent Great Britain at the Youth Olympics in Finland next week.
Amy, who attends Kingsmead School, has already represented her country in the European Championships this year.
Though she did not come home from Slovenia with a medal, her performance was still good enough to get the nod for the British squad in Finland.
Amy, who will represent her country in the U48kg weight category, has had a tremendous year, also fighting for Great Britain at competitions in Germany and Poland.
Enfield Judo Club founder George Hyslop said: "We are all very proud of Amy at the Enfield Judo Club and we wish her all the best. We sincerely hope she can win a medal for Great Britain in Tampere, Finland when the judo begins on Tuesday."
Meanwhile, Enfield Judo Club also have four youngsters representing London in a national competition on Saturday in St Helens. The quartet are Thomas Hill, Philip Awiti-Alcaraz, Shannon Austen and Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz.
