ENFIELD Ignatians have begun their pre-season with a bang, writes Jonathan Landi.
A combined 100 players attended the two opening training sessions, which were supervised by Ali Cook and Perran Gill.
Cook said: "We had good numbers which was very encouraging, and the whole exercise went well."
The graduated fitness regime involved a series of shuttle runs undertaken at various intensity levels, and some ball work."
Another encouraging factor was the presence of a number of new recruits, which should bolster the strength of the four teams.
Ignatians have also outlined their pre-season programme, which will begin with another crack at the Tring Tournament on August 22.
Ignatians progressed to the semi-finals last year, before going down to eventual winners Tring.
The first team will also play a couple of friendlies on August 29 and September 5 in advance of their first league fixture on September 12.
New recruits are always welcome and should contact Rob Wyer on 07956 458560.
