A TEEN tennis player made club history at Enfield Chase LTC over the weekend.
Nicky Fenn became the youngest player to win the ladies’ singles championship at the Mortimer Road-based club.
The 15-year-old produced a series of assured performances on her way to the final, where she triumphed against Linda Fail with a resounding 6-1, 6-0 win.
Afterwards, Saxon Way resident and Southgate School student Nicky said: "I was absolutely thrilled to win my first title, as there are many experienced players at the club."
The youngster was a first entrant in the event, but her success was not a total shock.
Nicky recently represent Enfield in the tennis at the London Youth Games.
Elsewhere at the event, Lawrence Kaye won the men's singles title. He just beat Dave Edwards.
But Dave did taste success with his 17-year-old son Joe by winning the men's doubles.
Meanwhile, the Reverend Amanda James and Mary Nagle won the women’s doubles.
