First-class county cricket came to Southgate for the final time this season on Sunday and it proved to be another run feast for spectators.
But Middlesex CCC could not sign off with a win, slipping to a surprise defeat against Gloucestershire in the Totesport Sunday League.
Despite the result, the match proved to be an entertaining affair with plenty of big hitting, something spectators at the Walker Ground, home of Southgate CC, are getting used to.
Middlesex set a daunting target for their visitors. Paul Weekes top-scored with 81 as the hosts finished on 333-4 from their 45 overs.
But Gloucestershire managed to scrape home with four wickets and five balls to spare.
Weekes also starred with the ball, taking four wickets, though it was generally a disappointing performance by the Middlesex bowlers.
