ENFIELD TOWN are to leave their Goldsdown Park home, and lodge at Cheshunt FC.

The relocation was approved at a club meeting last weekend, while work continues on the Queen Elizabeth stadium in Donkey Lane, into which the club are due to move this September.

Enfield Independent Sport understands the temporary relocation to Cheshunt’s Theobalds Lane home, will have no effect upon ticket price policy.

“It’s really the best solution in terms of proximity,” said club secretary Ciaran Glennon.

“It’s easier for fans to get to than other locations. Also, the ground is up to the right standard.”

Heavy snowfall caused work on the Queen Elizabeth stadium to be delayed, last winter.

“While we would have loved the work to be done now, we have got the summer to get things up and running,” said Glennon.

“It was always going to be iffy with the amount of delays to work caused by last winter’s snow. But it has not made much difference to the time scales.”
