WINCHMORE Hill made it two wins from two games in the Middlesex Cricket League Division One with victory over Brondesbury on Saturday.
The 65-run win arrived courtesy of three sizeable contributions from batsman Dave Alleyne and bowling pair Lasbourne Edwards and Jim Gatting.
Alleyne steadied the ship in the middle order after wickets started to tumble, following a useful 61-run opening stand between Neil Hurst (28) and Oli Adamson (48).
The number five hit 79 to stabilise the innings, with Adam Howorth (40) providing vital support from the tail.
Edwards and Gatting then picked up four wickets apiece, striking at regular intervals to disrupt the Brondesbury chase.
Edwards accounted for the top pair, but one of the most crucial breakthroughs was induced by Danny Barker, who had the settled Tom Simpson (48) stumped when well placed.
Gatting got in on the act to blast out the middle and lower order, while Edwards snared the final scalp to complete a comprehensive triumph, which leaves Winchmore joint top of the division.
Hill are set to take on Ealing this week, a team who have also opened the season with back-to-back wins, placing them at the top of the table alongside Winchmore and Teddington.
Meanwhile, Shaun Levy smashed a sensational 151 as Hill breezed past Harrow in the first round of the Middlesex Cup on Sunday.
Levy accounted for more than half of his side's runs as they amassed 273, with Gatting also contributing with 47.
That proved to be more than enough to dispatch Harrow, who fell 91 runs shy of their target.
