Richard Laurence will remain captain of Enfield Ignatians for the coming season, it has been confirmed.
The decision was made at the club’s annual meeting last Thursday, with Dannan O’Meachair also continuing in his role as vice-captain.
There are changes for the second and third teams however, as Mickey Piper moves up to become captain of the second team having overseen the development of the Thirds last season.
The move is part of a greater integration process between the first and second teams and shows a new level of ambition as the Seconds look to build on a fourth-placed finish in the Herts-Middlesex Merit Table One.
Ignatians’ clubman of the year Steve Renny will captain the third team in Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Two.
His work coaching the Under-14s last season should serve as invaluable experience.
Vice-captains for the second and third teams are yet to be confirmed but the pairing of Bish Galloway (captain) and Anthony Clare (vice-captain) will continue in the fourth team.
The fourth team performed admirably last season having been promoted and finishing a respectable fifth in Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Four.
Ignatians welcome new recruits at both senior and youth level. Those interested should call 07432 118 532.
Training starts on July 12 (7.30pm) and twice weekly sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays will continue throughout the summer.
